Elisha Ministries Spring 2025 Updates

Elisha Ministries, Inc. and Mental Restoration Institute, LLC (MRI, LLC) have been busy, busy, busy.  Our caring and compassionate staff provide various services to community members. 

With the MYWAY Program, we are helping the community by providing housing support, mental health services, local transport, and managing disability and social service benefits for those who cannot.  

We provide participants with a financial empowerment class that helps them with budgeting, financial management and planning. The next financial empowerment class is being held May 6th from 2pm to 3. The program is a great success, and we are fortunate to provide the services to community members in Ruston, LA and surrounding areas. 

Our task force ACT NOW meeting held on April 30th brought in community members working on a common cause. The task force unifies on social service needs for the community and finds solutions to meet the need. Elisha Ministries and ACT NOW meet on a regular basis.  

Each Monday an anger management class is provided at Lincoln Parish Detention Center from 4pm to 5pm.  

Elisha Ministries, Inc. and MRI, LLC staff have been busy with care access. This project provides free health screenings to those who sign up and qualify. This is a much-needed service in the high poverty and rural locations we serve.  

Coming soon in June, on the 5th through the 7th, we will provide a Care Access event helping our community members get signed up for these free health assessments and screenings. Held in Monroe, LA, Care Access provides a cardiometabolic health study for heart, kidney, diabetes, inflammatory disease, heart attack risk and Alzheimers. Compensation for participation is provided.  We are providing this event to encourage as many people as possible to get this free health screening.

 Then on August 2, 2025, our annual Faith Walk/Run will occur. Currently we are seeking sponsors to support the walk. It is one of our largest events that supports our work. 

We also serve those experiencing episodic rental assistance need, utility support. We do not currently serve crisis needs, but urgent needs. We provide housing support and referrals, mental health services (psychiatric evals, med management and follow up and hospitalization or substance abuse referrals, local transports and Medicaid transportation for Aetna, Healthy Blue, Humana and LA Healthcare Connections (request us as your preferred provider).  We also provide case management services for those with disability and social service benefits helping them manage their benefits because they cannot on their own.  The services are provided on an “as available basis".
